Work on your skills and your strategies : We teachers at Speak Better English understand that these tests are not just a lottery - they are generally a good judge of how strong your English skills are in the four areas: speaking writing reading and listening. If you are continually getting a certain result, that is telling you something about your English level... Having an experienced expert teacher to guide you and provide valuable feedback and corrections will definitely fast track your progress and maximize your chances of achieving your target score.
Note: If you are not sure which test to take, whether to sit for IELTS or ISLPR, or IELTS or OET, we are happy to discuss this issue, and will offer you sample ISLPR writing tasks, sample IELTS writing tasks, or sample OET writing tasks and then provide informal (and free) feedback to help you decide.

Do you need to pass the ISLPR in order to register as a teacher in Australia, and then work in your profession? We have ISLPR tutors who are thoroughly familiar with the way the ISLPR is structured and tested. These tutors can coach you online to effectively prepare for the test. We have helped many overseas-trained teachers pass their ISLPR test!!
As a teacher, I am a good listener and encourage students to ask questions for clarification. I know what is required to get these grades on the ISLPR test, and with my Masters in Linguistics, I have an excellent understanding of the grammatical problems which can hinder otherwise excellent teachers from getting their registration. I am aware that students have different styles of learning, and I have the flexibility to adapt my lessons to suit the way you learn. I also include fun activities such as vocabulary quizzes and guessing games in my planning.
To maximize your chance of success, the English tutors at Speak Better English do not offer a "one-size-fits-all" approach to your ISLPR preparation. There are no "standard materials", as if all students challenges are the same! Your tutor will carefully assess your strengths and weaknesses, and develop materials accordingly.
These are some recommended websites for the reading and listening sections of the test. You can regularly listen to podcasts and read articles on education as well as general news stories to help prepare for the ISLPR test: https://www.abc.net.au/everyday/search?query=education%20news
